In the 1970s, NASA sponsored a couple of projects looking at what space colonies may look like. They designed several version of colonies to house about 10,000 people. They then hired artists to render the designs.
I recently used these images as the theme for a deck looking at the state of marketing in 2015. NASA thought we would have space stations that would look like this by now. We haven't even been back to the moon since 1976.

A brilliant cross promotional campaign bringing together Banana Republic and Mad Men to both sell the style of the show as well as promote the upcoming season. This is the kind of multi-channel and multi-dimension engagement that is the future of effective marketing.
Somewhere modern day Don Drapers are sitting around and thinking about how to build the next one of these synergistic brand relationships. I can't wait to see what kind of campaign metrics come out of this effort.

Euro learned of its victory in the pitch when a Heineken beer truck arrived at the agency and began unloading beer for a victory party."
