“We need to recognize we can’t kill the instinct that technology produces, we can only criminalize it. We can’t stop our kids from using it, we can only drive it underground. We can’t make our kids passive again, we can only make them “pirates.” Is that good?
We live in this weird time, an “age of prohibitions,” where in many areas of our lives we live life constantly against the law. Ordinary people live life against the law, and that’s what we are doing to our kids, they live life knowing they live it against the law. That realization is extraordinarily corrosive, extraordinarily corruptive, and in a democracy, we ought to be able to do better.”

"Apple is indicating that it has something really juicy to introduce before the end of September."
Please oh please of please let it be a HoverBoard
I just read this article and was shocked by the numbers. Apple's 3rd quarter profits rose 31% with total revenue increasing a mind-blowing 43% from last year. Gartner now lists Apple as the No. 3 selling computer in the US.
With growth numbers like these is it possible that someday soon Apple will rule the world? The universe? To paraphrase the ever-wise Kent Brockman, I for one welcome our new Apple overlords.
If you haven't already, read this article. I had read bits and pieces of it before and it's referenced in the video below, but reading it in its entirety provides a compelling glimpse of the future.
